Pellegrini contract - where do journos get their 'facts' from?
Across several different news and football websites I have read many contradictory 'facts'. For example I have seen it said that his contract is for 2 years and 3 years and that his salary stated as 5 million pounds, 6 million, 7 million, 8 million and 10 million. Some say with bonuses, some don't. Does anybody else get the impression that journos are full of bullshit and just make it all up? I mean, has anybody asked David Sullivan?

Suspiciously round figures.

He's actually paid £5,573,019.35.

Source: same as the journalists'...

The most important part of Mr Pilgrim's contract are the implied terms to me. Whatever he is paid and over what term does mean as much to me as the unwritten part of his agreement, with our owners, about the amount of money he will be given for players and the degree of say he will have in the buying and selling of anyone.

seen his wages reported as everywhere from 5m to 10m

They trawl fan sites to pick up on any gossip then attempt to pass it off as "sources suggest".

I rang and asked Sullivan.

Bit rude.

They either just pass on rumours as facts or just completely make it up.

I often wonder what tiny percentage of 'news' may have a grain of truth in it?

It seems obvious to me that anyone involved in the media, wants to attract readers/listeners/hits, whatever it is. Therefore, they will say/print what ever they can get away with to gain them.

Most of the complete overkill on the Collins/email situation will be because we are in the lull between the domestic season and the World Cup, and there is bugger all else to write about.

I believe Pellegrini is the new WHU Manager, but I didn't take any notice of the rumours until it was confirmed officially.
